scanning tutorial repost

I've been using Photoshop for a while now, and I'm starting to get a bit handy with it. I looked over some tutorials a while back, but learned most of what I know by just monkeying around. I developed this process for merging multiple scans on my own.

It seemed to me that there were tons of tutorials for people who want to make digital art, but not so many for traditional artists who have photoshop and want to use it to prepare their work for digital display. This tutorial was written with mild technophobes in mind. I do assume some small knowledge, such as the names of the tools and concept of a layer, but go into lots of detail.

Included with the tutorial (and accounting for the vast majority of its big size) are two of my original scans for you to work with.
