Sun and Rain - A Whimsypo imm
there once was a man whose skin was of brick
the color of sand, one quarter inch thick
he never got bit, or baked in the sun,
could manage to sit but struggled to run.
he met a nice girl made of marshmallow
(her face was a pearl, pale shade of yellow)
she always was kind, she tried to be sweet
but neighborhood swine would lick at her feet.
these two lucky souls shared every delight
for love never folds; it always feels right
so when people stared or laughed at the two
their hearts were repaired by "Hun, I love you"
to heaven he goeth, and she follows him
for death found them both - they went for a swim.

funny that you chose to edit this the day i posted something comparing myself to the bricks in a walk-way.
this was written a long time ago, and if i was doing it again today, i probably wouldn't. I'd say "that's a stupid idea" and leave it at that. on the other hand, it is fun to just relax and write breezily every once in a while.

Nothing wrong with this. It made me smile

Try again. Fail again. Fail better.

I think the flow in that line might be a bit off. I tried reading that stanza three times, but I think it would maybe sound better if you wrote "made out of marshmallow"
I dunno. maybe I'm just reading it wrong, or putting stresses where they shouldn't be.
Other than that line, this is such a cool poem! The ending just made me laugh (eventhough I should laugh at death. oh well). And I like the use of the word "goeth", because it gives me assosiations to the Bible and heaven...and that's where they're headed. So I liked it.

It doesn't get more serious than a Rhinocerus about to charge your ass!
